If I was a member of a boy’s High School close to Sakuranbo HS, I’d befriend their K-On Gakubu. I’d be friendly with each and every member. Yes, I would even be friends with Mio, whom I truly despise. Yui, Azusa, Ritsu, Mugi, and yes, Mio, too. But lets not forget Ui and Jun, and Nodoka-chan, they are just as important.
When Yui and the gang were running the marathon in episode 15, I would be out training for cross country or some other running sport. I would run up beside them and say “Yosh! You girls can do it! Try your best and NEVA GIV AP!” (points if you comment with the source of that reference). I would run with them for a while with my headphones in my ears so they would get interested in me, as girls tend to do when you suddenly ignore them (trust me, it works on occasion). I would eventually start to break off from them, speeding back up to my original running pace and look back once to see them looking at me with interest. I would then yell, just before leavin them behind, “It was nice meeting you! Keep running!” and then I would wave and smile. But what, I wonder, would they think of me? Am I just some creepy white guy at the nearest boy’s school? Or perhaps I am an interesting white guy at the nearest boy’s school…I don’t know for sure.
The next time we would meet would be at the performance of “Romeo and Juliet” where I would sit in the front row and watch with utmost attention. I would smile a lot, not a creepy smile, but a genuine smile, as they performed graciously. I would try not to laugh as Yui looked so serious in her plant outfits. Then, at the end of the play, I would stand up and clap, resulting in the standing ovation. They would bow and see me there in the front row congradulating them on a great performance. Afterwards, I would run to greet them before they went back to the club room to practice for the Live concert. I would tell Ritsu that her girlish charm was really well portrayed and to Mio, meh. To Yui I would say, “You were a great tree.” And to Mugi, I would say that she had written a faithful adaption of the original Romeo and Juliet. I would then say, “I’m (insert my real name here), it was nice to meet you.” I wonder if they would introduce themselves back to me? What would my relationship with the K-on be like from now on?
